About WEATHERBANK, INC.
Our Mission Statement:
"To be a profitable, successful industry leader in providing the highest quality weather and environmental information to businesses, government agencies and the general public through state-of-the-art technologies."
WeatherBank, Inc. is a completely integrated, full-service, meteorological consulting company providing weather data and products, and custom programming solutions for businesses, government agencies, and the general public. We have been excelling in this endeavor since we began operations in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1972.
Today, our in-house staff of nearly 30 meteorologists, computer programmers, graphic artists, and other professionals, located in Edmond, Oklahoma, produce our unique line of weather products and services from numerous and redundant raw data sources, including all domestic and foreign government agencies and many private data vendors.
With operations on a 24/7 basis, we generate an exhaustive database of nearly 40,000 weather and environmental products that is of benefit to professionals working in all sectors of the economy, as well as individual weather enthusiasts.
We also maintain a historical weather database that covers the full period of record with both hourly and daily information. Our historical weather database has many applications, including forensic studies in all industries and for generating various financial and energy load models. Furthermore, since 1995, we have been archiving all of our products on a daily basis.
Our product line includes high resolution, color 1-kilometer resolution Doppler radar displays; including single-site NEXRAD data and composite images, direct GOES satellite images, real-time lightning displays and threat maps, hurricane tracking displays, the complete menu of National Weather Service forecast and aviation products, WeatherBank's custom weather graphics (including temperature, precipitation, watch and warning, visibility, high wind warnings, and extreme weather conditions, to name a few), Isographic (DIFAX) charts, current highway conditions, and much more. We present our products in both text and easy-to-comprehend color-graphic formats.
In graphic format, historic weather, real-time, and forecasted information can be displayed over maps of the world, North America, the entire United States, regions of the U.S., and individual states. We routinely construct custom base maps for our clients to aid in pinpointing the location of weather impacts relative to their asset locations and areas of operation. These custom base maps can be as small as the county level or any geographic area of interest.
In addition to being able to access WeatherBank's full compliment of text and graphic products online, the Company's online Weather Risk Management Program also offers state-of-the-art, high-resolution NEXRAD radar graphics and three short-term, predictive applications. These applications include Storm Predictor®, Rain Predictor®, and Hail Predictor®.
WeatherBank's hourly forecasting products include short, medium and long-term forecasts of some 20 different weather parameters (such as temperature, humidity, wind speed and direction, chance of precipitation, etc.), extending into the future as far out as two (2) years. We're forecasting on a grid size of 1 square kilometer (about one-half a square mile) throughout all of North America.
WeatherBank also provides many specialized meteorological and environmental services. These include meteorological monitoring, ambient air quality monitoring, instrumentation and calibration, environmental system audits, data reductions, and forensic weather studies for claims verification.
Our products and services are delivered over the Internet, File Transfer Protocols [FTP] and [XML]), a proprietary Windows®-based Software, digital facsimile, and other means.
